The Department of Tourism of Mpumalanga and Parks Agency Offering 12-Month Learnerships to 200 Youths

About the Department of Tourism Mpumalanga 
The Department of Tourism Mpumalanga was established more than a decade ago, specifically after the split of the Department of Finance and Economic Affairs. With the responsibility of aiming for constant growth in the economic sector, the department has recently started providing unique and productive initiatives for the local youth.

Through their main three agencies, in which the department supervises over, the department seeks to improve the economic livelihood of the Mpumlanga province. By creating projects where the local youth can participate, the department hopes that future generations will be able to contribute to the development of their province.

About the Department of Tourism Mpumalanga Learnership 
The Department of Tourism in partnership with the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency is currently offering learnerships for 200 candidates that are willing to participate in one of the department’s newest initiative, the New Venture Creation project.

Through this 12-month learnership, selected candidates will earn an opportunity to receive classes and training on workplace professionalism, especially within the tourism department. However, only a hand selected municipalities are given the chance to join this programme. These municipalities include:

  1. Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality: 30 stewards (Ref Num: NVC/ELU&BADP/30)
  2. Bushbuckridge Local Municipality: 40 stewards (Ref Num: NVC/BUSH/40)
  3. City of Mbombela Local Municipality (Hazyview): 40 stewards (Ref Num: NVC/HAZY/40)
  4. Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (Graskop): 20 stewards (Ref Num: NVC/GRAS/20)
  5. Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (Blyde): 30 stewards (Ref Num: NVC/BLYD/30)
  6. Nkomazi Local Municipality: 40 stewards (Ref Num: NVC/NKOM/40).

Please take not that this learnership programme is available only for citizens of the Mpumalanga Province in South Africa. With 200 positions in this programme, don’t miss your chance to sign up now! The Department of Tourism Mpumalanga Learnership Requirements
Interested candidates of the Department of Tourism Mpumalanga Learnership must meet these qualifications before they are eligible enough to participate in the programme. These requirements play a crucial role in whether you’ll get accepted or not, so kindly take note. To check what kind of people the programme are looking for, visit their website here. The requirements are listed below:

  1. Is currently not employed by a company
  2. Preferably between 18-35 years old
  3. Has earned a Grade 12 Matric certificate
  4. Able to provide a motivation letter with the appropriate program reference number
  5. Has proven residence of the Local Municipality that is mentioned above
  6. Is his/her first time participating in this project
  7. Does not have a family member that has participated in this program.

How to Apply
Once you have fulfilled all of the aforementioned requirements, you may now apply for the Department of Tourism Mpumalanga Learnership programme. In order to apply for the learnership, all candidates must send in their latest Curriculum Vitae alone with other necessary documents, such as valid copies of past qualifications, proof of residence (not exceeding three months), and legitimate identification.

After gathering all of your important documents, simply submit them via email. For applicants in the Ehlanzeni District, send them to: [email protected]. Whereas for applicants in the Gert Sibande District, send them to: [email protected].

Please be noted that all applications must be sent before the closing date. Any application form that is sent after the deadline shall not be considered by the committee. Shortlisted candidates will be notified within one month for an interview invitation. If you don’t hear anything from them by then, we regret to inform you that your application has been dismissed.
