The City of Cape Town Bursary Opportunities on 2018 for Future Full-Time Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students at The University of Western Cape
The City of Cape Town has The University of Western Cape as its national university with world-class reputations. As a result, this university is highly committing itself to developing its magnificent teaching and research qualities to nurture South Africa’s cultural diversities as well as encouraging creative and progressive innovations to answer society’s deepest needs.

Nevertheless, for some people, attending universities can be costly, even though it’s a public-owned university. In response to this financial needs, the City of Cape Town commits bursary funds for prospective Undergraduate or Postgraduate students at the University of Western Cape according to the selected study programme.

  • Geology, Hydrogeology (MSc)
  • LLB (Contracts/Labour Law Specialisation)
  • Local Economic Development (BA)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Risk Assessment
  • Social Work (PG)
  • and much more (refer to the City of Cape Town’s bursary programmes’ portal)

Future students in those above-mentioned study fields and programmes who have been shortlisted as City of Cape Town’s bursary recipients will get their registration, examinations, and class unit fees fully-funded. In some cases, the City of Cape Town also considers supporting full accommodation funds for its recipients.

How to Apply for City of Cape Town’s Bursary Programmes
Interested applicants should first and foremost have obtained their City of Cape Town’s bursary application forms on either one of its official bursary web page or have requested it through City of Cape Town’s libraries. In addition to completing their bursary’s application form, they should also attach copies on their relevant supporting documents and let them unreturned once they have been submitted.

Candidates should also bear in mind that there will be no written notifications regarding on the acceptance on their submitted documents and no late applications will be considered. Additionally, it is a definite indication of failure should they haven’t received anything in the middle of August each year.
